This push-in plug button is a small replacement cap that covers and seals an unused opening or socket on compatible appliances, keeping the area clean and helping prevent debris and moisture entry. What it does:

Maintains proper tension on your dryer's drive belt for smooth drum rotation. Replace if belt slips, drum won't turn, or you hear squealing noises.

Replacement idler spring for dryers. Maintains tension on the idler pulley to keep the drum belt engaged. Replace if broken, stretched, or missing.
If your dryer only runs on high speed or lost low/medium heat settings, the resistor assembly may have failed. Easy DIY fix for multi-speed issues.

I did replace the controls for the knob - which I researched was likely the problem from the internet and youtube videos. The repair itself was very easy - did it all in 20 minutes. Another video recommended disconnecting each wire from old knob and then inserting it in new knob control. I thought this was a very good tip - while it was more logistically a pain - keeping the two knobs so close, not dangling on pulling on wires, etc.... Decided to order the kit with both rollers even thou the right one looked OK.Also ordered the pulley for the idler. Watched the video for the pulley installation,super helpful on a couple of the steps!! Everything went great. A 14 year old dryer still has life! Parts ordering and delivery was also great!!!
