This idler arm assembly keeps the dryer drive belt under proper tension so the drum turns smoothly. Replacing a worn idler restores belt tracking and reduces noise from a failing tensioner. What it does:

When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised.
