In order it SHOULD be done: Pried off two white caps covering the screws that attach the flap to the left door, then removed screws. Lifted flap up to remove from door and disconnected cable. Used a thin blade to pry out the inner cover of the flap, then carefully pried out the insulation piece inside. Loosened the screw holding the center cap from the inside and removed cap. Repair required removing all of the interior drawers & shelves and the interior back panel. There you will find the defrost heater. Behind the defrost heater is a metal plate as well as one on the back of the front interior cover. Both were corroded and in need of replacement. I ordered Samsung part #’s AP5577767, plate drain & AP5587916, evaporator plate and replaced both. Read more

I went to youtube and discovered the cause. I bought a new thermostat, defrost sensor, and the heating element and added a metal clip from the heating element to the water discharge hole. It still wasn't working correctly and I had an appliance service rep to come out. They suggested I purchase a new back panel (that included a new fan) to the frig along with discharge tubes.
