Left door flap wouldn't close Justin W. • Atlanta , GA • January 13, 2019
I thought fixing this door would be too difficult/expensive, so I just spent a week manually closing the flap myself each time I closed the frig.
Then I googled the model number of the frig just for fun.
The first result was AppliancePartsPros.com, I clicked ONE SINGLE TIME and I arrived at this site, with the exact part I needed listed at the top, and a repair tutorial video that played beautifully with one more click. In the span of two total clicks, I saw how to fix the frig, and I saw...

Temperature read on display was higher than it really was inside the frigerator and it froze the food inside the frigerator it constantly ran because the temp sensor broke Daniel H. • Oakley , CA • November 05, 2016
Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. While I was in there I replaced the defrost sensor and the other sensor next to the heating rod. Also I know there is an issue with drain hole plugging up with ice so I extended the...

Samsung fridge wasn't making ice in upper icemaker Stephen H. • Columbia , SC • January 22, 2017
This appears to be a weak spot on these refrigerators; the left-door ice maker will stop making (or at least consistently making) ice. Instead, an ice dam is created, which builds up in the ice maker corridor, making even getting the slide-in bucket nearly impossible to remove. The ice also freezes up the ice making tray, which therefore cannot drop the ice cubes. Generally, two things may go wrong which lead to this issue.
The first is the ice-making assembly; its electrical components...

Freezing up with ice coming through the openings in the inside back panel Barry B. • Gainsville , FL • March 16, 2015
Replaced the inside back panel which comes with a new fan. Seems the old fan had stopped working due to ice which burned it out. The drain tube was blocked and ice built up on the bottom plate. Using a basting tube from Walmart and hot water I thawed out the ice in the tube. The basting tube became much like a toilet plunger and cleared the line rapidly. Nothing else worked as fast. I then bought a one foot long piece of thin solid copper wire from Lowes and stripped the insulation off. I...

Samsung french door refrigerator left and right door gaskets were split out and mildewed Louis V. • Houston , TX • August 20, 2016
First, I removed the old gaskets, which was a very easy task since they are held in the doors by rubber beads in recessed slots. I installed the new right door gasket in less than 10 minutes by gradually pushing the retainer bead into the door recessed slot with finger pressure until it was seated properly.
The left door bead was somewhat more difficult to install into the bead slot, because the recessed bead slot is covered by a hinged flap on its left edge that doesn't permit easy access....

Replacement water filter would not screw into housing on samsung refrigerator Larry C. • O'fallon , IL • February 07, 2016
After looking online and discovering that others who had used a knockoff brand filter to "save money" had the same problem, I concluded the only solution was to replace the filter housing. Found the one I needed on AppliancePartsPros.com. Most important to me was the video explaining how to replace the filter housing - it made the task a snap to complete. The price was also competitive with other sources. Shipping was half that charged by Samsung. Not only was it cheaper, but it was also super...

Samsung rs2545sh cooling was uneven throughout refrigerator 55 degrees on top shelf 38 degrees on middle shelf Jon K. • Bozeman , MT • January 04, 2016
The blower motor that circulates air through the refrigerator was broken. I had to remove all the shelving and drawers from the refrigerator. Then I had to remove the plastic light cover from the center of the fridge. Then I removed all visible screws to uncover the evaporator/radiator. I then unplugged the light bulb and motor wires. Luckily all wiring is keyed so that it can be plugged in again without error. I removed the motor by opening the motor housing. The housing has 1 screw and...

The unit is not two years old yet and the evaporator motor has gone out twice already it makes a rough sound when the bearing is going than that area fils up with water and freezes Duane O. • Holmen , WI • August 19, 2014
I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor. Than replace the panel put the...

The freezer would freeze up drip water into refrigerator then freeze refrigerator contents and had to be manually defrosted Rob S. • Fort Thomas , KY • December 13, 2014
Ordered parts, defrosted refrigerator, and replaced with new items. This problem has been going on quite some time, while Samsung refused to acknowledge the defective unit, claiming it was owner fault. The defrosting had to be completed every 3-4 months and managed in time to require defrosting every few days. Originally a repairman came and although he defrosted it the first time, he informed us, this is quite common and the unit is defective by design; which is why we continued to defrost on...

Original casters for samsung fridge were flattened out from weight not from sliding sideways Yitz G. • Phoenix , AZ • November 27, 2017
Samsung does not make it easy to replace the casters. The shafts holding the casters are crimped at the ends and had to be cut off with little room for any tools. I had to jack up the fridge and I used a hacksaw blade with a handle to cut through the wheel shafts. I didn't want to use a reciprocating saw. I couldn't find a way to crimp the new shafts so I drilled small holes at the ends and used cotter pins to retain the shafts in place. The rear caster had no room to slide the new one in...

Someone did not know that the freezer handle had to be pulled up to open drawer. They ripped the screws right thru the cap handle when they tried to use brute force to pull it open. Karyn S. • Marengo , IL • December 19, 2017
I looked at the blow up drawing to figure out what parts I might need. I then watched a you tube video to see how to take the handle off. I kind of figured out on my own how to remove the ruined cap handle. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and more time to remove both the handle and the broken part. Turns out I did not need the spring nor the shaft cap handle. Very proud of myself. Saved a huge amount of money. Only problem was that I could only put in one screw as the previous...
