Removed lower rear cover, compressor was very hot. This is usually a capacitor issue, but the schematic on the back of the unit shows a start/ run relay. For the low cost, I replaced both. parts were delivered in 2 days. The start/ run relay is mounted directly to the compressor. It slides on/ off with a little bit of prying. No fasteners. Following advice on YouTube I removed the ice maker and found the ice tray had broke. The You Tube video said they got the parts from AppliaceParts Pros. The site was easy to use and quickly sent me the needed part - an ice tray for about $12. Much cheaper than a service call. I put in the part yesterday. It was easy - just need a screwdriver and flash light. My wife is so happy to have ice again. Read more
Freezer drain heater assembly includes: Metal bracket and aluminum foil heater with wire harness.
Unplug the freezer and let the ice melt. Unscrew the back panel (6 screws, two have caps on them). unplug the heater. Pull the bottom of the cooling coil forward. Remove the heating pan and the wire from the right side. Install the new heater making sure you put the bottom looped wire back in the drain hole. Put the panel back on and you are done. I used foil tape to re secure the pan. None comes with it. Read more
