The R134 Drier is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This component plays a critical role in the refrigeration system by removing moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant, ensuring efficient cooling and preventing damage to other parts of the system. It helps maintain the purity and effectiveness of the refrigerant as it cycles through the system.
You should replace the R134 drier if it becomes clogged or damaged. Common causes of a bad drier include wear and tear over time, exposure to moisture, or contamination from other failing components in the refrigeration system.
Symptoms of a bad R134 drier include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Stamped steel plate that secures the compressor to the refrigerator cabinet. Replace if cracked, bent, or rusted to restore stability and reduce vibration.
Secures wire harnesses in your refrigerator. Replace if broken, cracked, or wires are loose. Confirm fit with your model number before ordering.
Mullion air duct that directs airflow between refrigerator compartments. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper air circulation.
Fridge warm but freezer cold? Frost buildup on evaporator coils means a failed defrost heater. This assembly prevents ice blockage, restoring airflow.
I unplugged the fridge and took all the food and shelving out of the freezer and then proceeded to take off the bottom sliding drawer rack on both sides off (4 Phillips head screws). Then took off the light bulb cover and then the light bulb. Then the back wall that covers the coils and tubes that the refrigerant runs through ( 2 screws with hex head). After sliding out the back wall I could see that the entire coil area was frosted and iced up. I took a blow dryer and melted all of it over... Read more

Fix frost buildup on evaporator coils or a freezer that keeps icing up. This defrost heater assembly melts accumulated ice to restore proper cooling.
After reviewing a number of testimonials and your videos from your APP.com site I determined my most likely problem was either the defrost heater, thermostat, timer or possibly all three. The real challenge now began. Getting to the specific parts with my specific model number was a real challenge. It was not as easy as removing the light guard and 5 screws since my model had two Track Cant Shelf vertical rails restricting the removal of the back panel. Also, these rails could not be removed... Adapter for upgrading from metal canister to modern cartridge water filters. Install once when switching filter types—reusable for future changes.
When the adapter arrived, I wasn't sure it was the right one as it looked completely different. The fridge is old, and I inherited it when I moved in 4 years ago and it hadn't been replaced since I wasn't aware it needed changing. I inserted the adapter into the new filter, aligned the arrow on the filter to the one on the fridge panel and turned the filter accordingly and it seemed to fit fine. I made sure it was tight enough and it seems to be fine now. I ran the water from the door... Read more

Nut for 1/4 inch tubing.
Changed the Frigidaire Icemaker Fill Tube Part # 241796405 (AP5671747) about a week ago and so far the Frigidaire Refrigerator seems to work fine. Did not use other ordered parts. Recently ice formed around internal evaporator fan and it started making loud noise when then fan and compressor, etc were running. A long winded history noted below if interested: I have been fighting with this Frigidaire Refrigerator for about 3 to 4 years, started out with the evaporator fan making noise when ice... Read more
Upper tail handle component for refrigerator doors. Replaces yellowed, discolored, cracked, or broken handles to restore appearance and function.
This was a very easy repair. I watched the video from Appliance Parts Pro and then followed the same steps. I took my time and the only issue was that I had to flip the handles from the first installation so that the trim would fit better. The replacements look like they should be able to go either way, but they were definitely directional. Read more

Ice crusher not working or slow crushed ice production? This helix front feeds ice to crushing blades. Moderate DIY repair—replace with auger for best results.
This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
