I knew the door latch was suppose to lock for self clean and it wasn't, so I took the back off and after tracing out wires and the linkage to the door latch, determined that it was a faulty motor on the latch lock. I got on line and Appliance Parts Pros was the first place that I found the part. I was surprised that it wasn't real expensive, but I kept looking for a cheaper price only to come back to order it from APP. This screw-and-washer fastener is a factory-size 8-18 x 5/16 hardware piece used to secure appliance panels and components. Replace stripped, rusty, or missing hardware to restore a tight, rattle-free fit and proper alignment. What it does:
I removed the burners, which were rusted and needed some tapping. They were pretty stubborn to remove from the insert. I removed the spark igniters, which were rusted where they screwed into the burner and then removed the venturi tubes.. Once this was done, I installed the new igniters to the underside of the new burner. I then installed the burners, which only took simple placement and a quarter turn to lock them in. I then hooked up the igniter wire to the new spark igniters. The repair... Read more

I recently shattered the outer glass on my Whirlpool oven door. (Side note for lesson learned...don't swat at a fly with a broom when its on the oven door. I didnt swing hard just a love tap but thats all it took ha ha) The toughest part of the fix was removing the broken glass as it had shattered into hundreds...no thousands of pieces. Thankfully it was taped on the inside and that held some of it together. I placed the door in our garbage can and put on a pair of gloves with a scraper to... Read more

After being told by a service repairman that it would cost me close to $200 to repair, I resolved to just not use the dispenser. After about a year, I had decided that I wanted to repair it and would look at the options myself. At the least, I could figure out which parts were needed to repair it and have them on hand for a service guy if I determined I could not do the job myself. The more I studied it, the more I felt confident that I could do it, and sure enough, when the part arrived - a... Read more

Electronic control panels like this one are designed to help with the operation of an oven. This component has a series of buttons across its surface for users. These can be used to change the oven temperature, set the method of cooking, and start oven maintenance, such as self-cleaning. The electronic control panel is wired to the major components of the oven to determine whether everything is working correctly. The most common sign that the electronic control panel is damaged is the oven not turning on. However, a malfunctioning component can also cause the oven not to heat, turn off and on randomly, or display error codes across the display. If the part is damaged, it should be replaced. A nut drive, screwdriver, and putty knife will be needed for the replacement process. Unplug the oven before starting. Turn the screws on the back of the electronic control panel and pull the ribbon away before disconnecting the part. Install the new control panel and reattach the ribbon before replacing the screws. Created for use on ovens by Whirlpool, this part is sold on an individual basis. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM replacement part.

The grill vent is only held in place by two screws. Super simple fix. Remove the two screws and the old grill vent, position the new vent and put the two screws back in. Replacing the cord required that cabinet to be removed. Lots of screws on the back, top and bottom. Once the screws were removed, the cabinet pulled back. The power cord connections were then clearly visible. Undid the two wire connectors and unscrewed the ground wire from the body to remove the old power cable. Installed the... Read more
