I have a 14 year old GE washing machine that had been making a lot of noise while running but had eventually just stopped flat. The agitator and spin cycle would not run. I found this site and made excellent use of all the repair videos to study about my issue. I put in my machine model number and I Immediately was able to start honing in on what my problem could be from website advice about popular repair parts, stories others had shared about their similar machine issues and watching videos,... Replacement drain hose directs used water from your washer to the household drain. Needed when original hose is cracked, split, or leaking.
Our washer is next door the bathroom. So when, during the rinse cycle, the hose split and we found the back of the house completely flooded I initially assumed the culprit was either the toilet or the sink or possibly an interdimentional portal into a demonic netherworld of vaguely chlorine scented water. I spent the next hour mopping it all up and checking and re-checking the pipes in the bathroom with no apparent leaks. The next load of laundry left more clues as this time the flood was from... This factory 8-18 screw secures appliance panels, brackets, and components. Replace missing or stripped hardware to restore a tight, rattle-free assembly and dependable operation.
It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I want to tell you this is a 2 person job. In order to assemble it you need to... Read more
Suspension rod and spring assembly for washing machines. Installs between the tub and cabinet frame. Replace when cracked, broken, or worn to restore stability.
I shopped around a bit - found one retailer that only had 1 shock in stock, another that only stocked the front shocks, etc. There is definitely a difference in the springs between the green colored and white colored shocks! I've torn this washer down before, so I'm fairly familiar with how it's put together. I've seen some of the You-tube videos on replacing this item, and some of the videos show far more disassembly than is required. I only removed the front, top, and controls, and... Read more
Plastic support bracket that secures suspension rods to the washer cabinet. Replace when cracked, broken, or worn to restore proper drum suspension.
Prevents leaks and seals your washer door during wash cycles. Replace if torn, moldy, or causing water leakage. Verify fit with your model number.
I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. To start the boot I had to hook the top edge of the boot, where the arrow tab is, onto the rectangular projection on the tub rim and then roll the rubber boot edge down around the tub rim and hope the rim was going into the... This is a screw and flat washer set used to secure the drum baffles (lifters) inside a dryer drum. The baffles tumble clothing during the drying cycle, and these fasteners keep them firmly attached. Replace if the screws are stripped, missing, or corroded, which can cause baffles to come loose and create rattling noises during operation.

Replacement water fill hoses for washing machines. Connect home water supply to washer. Replace when cracked, leaking, or showing rubber wear or corrosion.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

Sump hose connects the washer tub to the drain pump. Replace if cracked, leaking, deteriorated, or has holes causing water leaks during wash cycles.
I changed the pump and also discovered the coin trap was wearing thin because it was rubbing against the sheet metal. So I replaced that as well. It took about 15 minutes to remove the coin trap and pump and about 20 minutes to install. The shipping was amazingly fast. I received the parts the next morning. I'm talking I ordered the parts before noon, chose the "fast shipping" option and received parts the next morning around 8:30 AM. Read more
This vane screw secures the internal drum baffle (vane) to the drum, keeping loads turning properly and preventing rattles or snags. Replace a missing or stripped screw to restore a tight, stable baffle during cycles.

Drive pulley mounts to the washer basket shaft and routes the belt from the motor. Replace if worn, cracked, loose, or showing play on the shaft.
Replaced the shaft & mode shifter assembly. Also replaced the pulley as it had taken some damage from the wobbling clutch dog. And replaced the tub seal since it's normally inaccessible with the shaft in place. This is an advanced repair that took a lot of time. Removing the tub nut took a 1 11/16" socket and a 700 ft-lb impact wrench and I had to hammer on the nut for several minutes to break it free of the tub. Disassembly of the washer is complete, and requires a lot of space for... Read more
