Replaced the de-frost timer because I noticed that one of the terminals was discolored indicating a high resistance connection. In addition I inspected the de-frost heater elements for continuity and shorts and they checked out OK. This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
I took off the cover on the back of the fridge. Then took the small cover off the side of the compressor. Pulled off the relay and shook it and you could hear parts rattling inside. Ordered a repalcement and it's been working since. Read more
Includes ice auger blade. For blade separately use WR2X7783. Please note Due to manufacturer changes they no longer make the auger as shown (helix coil approx 7 1/2") in the photo. The replacement helix coil is now approx. 5". If you have the original as shown in the photo you must order the complete auger/bucket assembly.
