This is a white flipper mullion assembly that mounts between the refrigerator and freezer doors. It creates a seal between the two doors to maintain proper temperatures and prevent air leaks, and it contains a heater element to prevent frost and condensation buildup along the door gap. Replace this assembly if you notice frost forming between the doors, condensation dripping down the front of the unit, or if the mullion is cracked or warped and no longer sealing properly.

My freezer units back inside panel were icing up and on the refrigerator side it wasn't cooling down to the normal setting. The unit was constantly running and I knew it was one or more of three things. Defrost timer, defrost heater, or defrost thermostat. The timer was good so I ordered a new thermostat and heater from AppliancePartsPros.com. After pulling the rear panel and allowing the ice buildup to drain off, I replaced the heater and thermostat. My issue was a bad defrost heater but a ...

Ice maker evaporator would not defrost causing a large build up of ice in the evaporator housing Chris S. • Highland , CA • February 15, 2016
Replaced evaporator heater and housing. Just make sure you also replace the thermostat. If not it is a little challenging to get the wires out of the old thermostat/ heater plug into the new plug. Also if you have the same problem be prepared to have a good heat gun to melt the ice buildup around the evaporator and drain hole. The ice build up was so bad that it destroyed the evaporator cover and was leaking into the refrigerator or should I say ice was forming below the evaporator cover...

Could not remove old power cord from back of dryer (screw heads stripped due to soft metal) Michael A. • Lewiston , ME • August 26, 2017
I had to remove my dryer so I could install a new floor. The dryer would not fit through the doorway with the power cord attached. Since the power cord was fastened to the back using 3 phillip headed screws, I gently backed them out with a phillip headed screwdriver. However, two of the 3 screws gave me extreme trouble. The head of the screws were made of such a weak metal, that the screw head began stripping. I have a phillip screw kit with different sized heads, so I picked a head that...
