Andrew W Hagerstown , MD January 21, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer NED7200TW10 Dryer wasn't heating I found the assembly with heater element, thermostat, and the thermal fuse already assembled (cheaper than finding what part was bad and ordering that one part). unplugged dryer, pulled it out and removed the dryer exhaust tube, the top and front. The harness was a little short so I wasnt able to pull the whole heater assembly out before disconnecting. BEFORE disconnecting I took a picture so that if my brain forgot what wires went were!!!! put the dryer back together and put a load that just finished in the washer in and DRIED it!!!!! Mathew H Bowie , MD October 07, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9700AYW Dryer would spin but not produce heat Started by consulting with the service sheet that came with the dryer, which stated to check the heater and two thermistors for resistance. After disassembling the dryer down to the heater unit, I was able to measure all three parts and find the heater measuring infinity. Ordered a new heater unit, which ended up being a direct replacement. Installed new heater unit, reassembled dryer, and it produces heat again. Read More...
