Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 297286810
This run capacitor helps the refrigerator compressor start and run smoothly, restoring normal operation when a weak or failed capacitor causes the compressor to struggle. Replacing a faulty capacitor can reduce humming and improve cooling performance. What it does:
- Provides continuous phase-shift to the compressor motor for stable running.
- Helps maintain proper compressor speed and efficiency during operation.
- Commonly replaced when the compressor hums, won't stay running, or cooling is inconsistent.
- Reduces risk of repeated motor cycling caused by a weak or open capacitor.
What's included: One run capacitor. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power to the appliance before accessing electrical components.
- Discharge the capacitor before handling; capacitors can hold a charge even when powered off.
- Observe terminal orientation and mounting location; replace with the same type and ratings.

Compressor not running. Eric A. • Canton , MA • December 16, 2017
My freezer and fridge were blowing warm and all my food in there was garbage... Lights and fans all working. Looked up some YouTube videos on what it could be. Bad compressor least likely culprit even though it wasn't running. It wasn't doing that "click whirr" thing if it were trying to start. It just flat out wasn't running. So, check the overload and relay that attach right on the side of the compressor. I did, and I shook them. They jingled like loose change=BAD. Ordered new ones and...

Part Number: 4318083
Start relay for refrigerator compressors that helps the compressor begin running at power-up. Replacing a failed relay can restore normal starting behavior and resolve common startup symptoms. What it does
- Provides the initial start current path to the compressor during startup.
- Allows the compressor to reach running speed, then drops out once the motor is running.
- Common symptoms a bad relay may cause: compressor clicking, humming without starting, intermittent cooling or frequent cycling.
- Installed as the electrical component used only on compatible compressor assemblies.
What's included Includes one start relay. Install notes
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid electrical shock.
- Access the relay at the compressor; remove and replace the relay only after confirming diagnostics.
- Dispose of the old electrical part per local regulations.

Lg refrigerator wound not start Steve S. • Peoria , AZ • May 28, 2016
For an emergency fix I installed a 3 in1 kit disabling the original start cap and wiring in the original run cap to the run winding.
Ordered the proper PTC and overload from Appliance Parts Pros and installed them 2 weeks later.
The original start and run capacitor were good, rewired back to design specs.
The original PTC had pins 1,2 and 3, the replacement had 2,3 and 4.
Only wiring change was to install the red wire from pin 1 on the original PTC to pin 4 on the new PTC.

Blower fan would not reliably come on compressor worked ok Steve P. • Indianapolis , IN • September 02, 2014
Air circulation (blower) fan would not come on reliably. Had a hard time getting up to speed and sometimes would not even run. This capacitor fixed that problem, fan comes on quickly like it was when new. This is a 25,000 BTU room air conditioner, I didn't want to replace it with another one for about $700 especially since it is only 3 years old. I spent under $40 to fix it.

Lg refrigerator compressor would intermittantly hum and shut down but then start normally minutes later Don C. • Pearland , TX • July 23, 2016
After watching repair videos, I decided I could order the parts needed and do it myself for less than a service call, not to mention the additional cost for parts markup and installation that a service technician would charge. I am very pleased that I did. I ordered the start relay, overload and capacitor with some help from Ilya at customer service to make sure I was getting the correct replacements. Installation was easy. The hardest thing was contorting my body into a position where I could...

Part Number: 5303270406
This compressor overload is a thermal/protective device that helps prevent compressor damage by cutting power when the motor overheats or draws excessive current. It restores normal operation once conditions return to safe levels. What it does:
- Protects the refrigerator compressor from overheating and electrical overloads
- Works with the compressor start relay to help the motor start and run properly
- Common symptom linkage: replaces a failed overload when the compressor hums but won't start
- Stops compressor cycling or prevents repeated trips that cause cooling loss
What's included:
- One compressor overload (single piece as shown)
Install notes:
- Disconnect all power before replacing to avoid shock or injury
- Handle terminals carefully and reconnect matching terminal positions
- Replace only with the same part number or equivalent
- If compressor still won't start after replacing the overload, check the start relay and compressor condition.
