After 4 years of heavy use nearly all of the facia assembly's plastic attachment tabs were broken. This caused the facia to pull away from the door while trying to open the dishwasher. This piece fails due to poor design as the weak point of the part you grab to open the dishwasher door. This defect has been reported by a number of owners as a common failure point on this model dishwasher. This is a $90 piece of plastic and yes, it does the job of restoring the DW to fully functional. This is a relatively easy repair. Here are detailed instruction to replace the Control Panel. Tools Required: #15 and #20 Torx drivers. (Power tools not recommended) THE INNER SHELL DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED There are 10 perimeter screws that secure the inner shell (#15) to the outer shell and six screws, three on each side (#20).
