Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Top loading washer would not agitate or spin h20 out after a clicking noise; the motor wouldn't engage or would start & then stop finally figured that it was the motor &/or capacitor   Susan S. • Pelkie , MI • October 31, 2014

I found your site which was most helpful. I saw on your forum, that others had replaced a motor & capacitor with + results. I was willing to spend what I thought was a reasonable amount & your guarantee was the clincher. I knew that if I called the appliance store where we had purchased the washer in 1998, it would be very expensive & even more important, it would take many days as they would have to order the part & then schedule a service call. I installed the motor & capacitor & was... Read more

Compressor Overload Protector
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6750C-0004R

The Compressor Overload Protector is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. It plays an important safety role in protecting the compressor from damage due to excessive heat. Located near the compressor unit, the overload protector functions to shut off power to the compressor if temperatures become too high during operation.

Causes can include normal wear over time rendering it less responsive to temperature changes. Mineral or refrigerant deposits may also impede its ability to detect overheating conditions accurately.

Symptoms of a faulty overload protector include:

  • Refrigerator fails to properly cool or the compressor does not run
  • Circuit board or electrical component failure or burnout
  • Lack of cold air production and higher than normal freezer/fridge temperatures

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Sears/Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Not cooling   Paul B. • Frederick , MD • January 15, 2017

8 y/o LG unit was not cooling or freezing. There was a clicking on the back side every 2-3 minutes. Used these 2 issues in a internet search and top 2 cited problems were dirty coils then bad PTC & OLP. Tool off the back panel, compressor was quie hot. Coils did not look excessively dirty but cleaned them anyway. DId not resolve the problem. The OLP & PTC recommended for my unit. were different than the original TSD and I thought I would have to return the parts. However, I got on a chat... Read more

Compressor Start Relay
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 216594300

The Starter is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This component is crucial for initiating the compressor, which is responsible for cooling the refrigerator. The starter works by providing the necessary electrical power to get the compressor running, ensuring that the refrigerator maintains the correct temperature.

Causes of a bad starter can include electrical malfunctions, wear and tear over time, or damage from power surges. A faulty starter can prevent the compressor from starting, leading to cooling issues.

Symptoms of a bad Starter include:

  • The refrigerator not cooling properly
  • The compressor not running or frequently cycling on and off
  • Unusual clicking or buzzing noises from the compressor area
  • The refrigerator being warmer than usual or food spoiling quickly

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Capacitor (Microwave High-Voltage)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X10073

This microwave high-voltage capacitor stores and releases energy in the high-voltage circuit to power the magnetron. Replacing a failed capacitor helps restore proper heating and protects other components in the high-voltage system.

  • Works with the transformer and high-voltage diode to supply the magnetron with the required voltage
  • Failure may result in the unit running but not heating
  • Shorted capacitors can blow the internal fuse or trip a breaker; opens may cause loud humming or buzzing
  • Visible swelling or leakage on the capacitor body are common failure signs
What's included: One high-voltage capacitor Install notes:
  • Unplug the microwave; capacitors can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged—discharge using an appropriate, insulated method before servicing
  • Note wire positions and terminal orientation; transfer any mounting hardware from the original part
  • Mount securely and route wires to avoid pinching

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave oven was not heating   Scott S. • Charlotte , NC • June 20, 2017

I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more

Replaced start relay and capacitor. Good news, repair successful. Bad news, parts supplied are not direct fit plug and play on my Frigidaire model. Supplied parts are larger than the original. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No cooling and no hum from compressor when plugged in   Collin H. • Quincy , WA • October 23, 2014

I suspected the start-relay and tested it due to the lint plugged condenser coils. The start-relay rattled when shook, a telling sign it is no good due to over heating. I tested the compressor terminals and compared them the results with the Tech Data Sheet found with the unit, to find my compressor was still good. I checked the start capacitor with a capacitor tester, comparing the results with the rating printed on the side of the capacitor and found it to be good. I cleaned the condenser... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Would not run led dimmed condenser fan would not run   Pete M. • Santa Fe , NM • May 16, 2015

We replaced the main circuit board and the LED started to work and the condenser fan worked, but all we had were relay clicking sounds, but no cooling. The compressor had become so hot trying to work when the main circuit board was amiss, that it had popped the over temperature sensor on its side. As some one point out, if you remove the PTC+OLP assembly with the capacitor on it, and shake it, you will hear a rattle inside---and that is bad. We ordered a second round of parts from...
