The storage device for water had a cracked fitting so when either the water or ice solenoid was activated the water ran into the compartment. I replaced the storage device (reservoir) once I figured out how to remove the upper cover in the top of the refrigerator. I found the videos on dishwasher repair that AppliancePartsPros offers and determined the likely cause of the problem. I removed the door cover and found soap caked on the back. I cleaned the cover and switched the wax motors to see if the clean rinse motor was good and ran a tested cycle. No improvement. I ordered two new wax motors for the Maytag dishwasher and those arrived in a few days from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced the old motors and ran a test cycle. The soap tray opened correctly.... The grommet was old and very caked with old dishwasher scum. So water was leaking through where the soap door latch goes into the door. I replaced the rubber grommet (and the plastic latch that came with the kit, even though the old one was probably fine). Fit perfectly and looked just like the old one. Found water reservoir had frozen solid and had cracked (no idea yet why it froze). I had previously fixed a frozen drain from the cooler by wrapping 12 Ga bare copper wire around the heater element and routing into the drain hole and that was working and clear. So I ordered and replaced both water reservoir and water reservoir heater in case the heater was not working fully. Very Easy to fix by removing vegetable drawer and shelves.
