The Tub Seal is an OEM part for Bosch washing machines. This part prevents water from leaking from the rear part of the drum where it connects to the machine's other components. This seal is specifically engineered to handle the rigorous environment of a washing machine, dealing with constant exposure to water, high spin speeds, and fluctuations in temperature.
Causes of deterioration in a tub seal include aging and wear over time, chemical damage from detergents, and physical stress from unbalanced loads or excessive spin speeds.
Symptoms of a bad Tub Seal include:
- Water leaking from the back of the washer, especially during or after the spin cycle
- Unusual noises such as grinding or squeaking, which may indicate that water has seeped into bearings or other components
- An increase in humidity or wetness around and behind the machine
- Rust or corrosion on nearby metal parts, suggesting prolonged exposure to leaking water
This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.
