Washer won't start or shows door lock error? This door lock switch keeps the door secured during wash cycles. DIY repair in 15-20 minutes with video.
First I took off the spring loaded wire ring holding down the seal to the door with needle nose pliers. Pulled back the seal. Removed the 3 screws holding the part on the front of the washing machine. Slid the piece out. Took the protector guard off the off piece and unplug the wires. Put the wires into new part. Put the protector on the new part. Slid the part back into place. Screwed it back in. Put the seal back on. Put the wire spring loaded ring back around the seal. Total time 15 minutes... Read more

The Door Strike is an OEM part for GE dryers. Positioned on the dryer frame, it securely latches the door closed during cycles. Its magnets align perfectly with the door when shut to create an air-tight barrier, enhancing energy efficiency.
Causes of failure can be normal wear, misalignment stress, or accidental damage. Over time, strikes lose effectiveness at preventing air/moisture exchange.
Symptoms of a bad door strike include:
This GE part is also compatible with some Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore models.
Dishwasher won't start or door won't stay closed? The door latch bracket secures the latch mechanism for proper door closure. 30-45 min DIY repair.
Our 7 y/o dishwasher wouldn't close and therefore we couldn't get it to run. I called several service places who charged $75-$90 diagnostic plus parts & labor, and they were not able to get here for at least a week. I knew it was going to run at least $200. I watched a couple videos on this site and YouTube and... Read more

We ordered a door switch, dryer latch and strike plate. We realized that we only needed to replace the door switch. We watched a few videos and then replaced the switch. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do. The hardest part was getting the original door switch out, all of the videos we watched showed us that it would pop out with a little pressure from a flat head screw driver, from the front of the switch. We could not get... Read more
