I replaced the Timer knob components. Removing the cover that contains the Timer was simpler than I anticipated. Just remove the screws on the top of the back of the machine. Hold the cover and lift up and push to the left (facing the front of the washer). Removed the Timer Knob Clip with small needle-nose pliers. I could not find specific online instructions for this job. Here are some tips. 1. Unplug the washer. 2. Unscrew the dial on the broken timer. 3. Gently pry up the thin plastic place-indicator plate (the thing with the arrow under the dial) with two flathead screwdrivers. 4. Unscrew the two hex screws holding the old timer in place. 5. Tried to put refrigerator in defrost mode and defrost would not initiate. Checked the bi-metal and heater, both tested good. Replaced the ADC board and refrigerator went in to defrost. problem solved. Read more

I replaced the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer. That corrected the problem. Be careful when ordering your parts. I put in my model# and they gave me a defrost timer that was incorrect. I had to return at my cost and order the correct one. Don't assume because you put in your model# that the part is correct. On each part there is a box to put in your model# to check to see if it fits your model. Don't assume that because you put your model# in before that it fits. If not sure, call them... Read more
