Rinse agent leaking from the dispenser Hal C. • Clarksville , TN • September 13, 2016
This was a pretty easy fix. Removed the screws around the perimeter of the inside cover of the door and pressed the outer door cover upward to release it from slots retaining it. There are four wires to remove (2 for the detergent door release and 2 for the rinse agent release). Removed the 6 screws retaining the dispenser assembly and inserted the new one. Reassembly is simply in reverse order.
Problem solved for less than the cost of a service technician's call!

Maytag gas dryer was not heating Christopher P. • Los Angeles , CA • October 04, 2014
Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I...

I told my friends that inwould fix it. I used a multimeter to check the thermostats, heaterbelement and funrion dial. I found 2 bad thermostats. Used video and took apart dru, this was extremely helpful. I bypassed the belt and door switch. Tested gas valves (gas disconnected) with multimeter. Found that the igniter worked the first gas valve, but the second gas valve would not open and the igniter would stay on. Found a flow chart online that shows the flame detect turns on causing the gas to turn on and shuts off the igniter. I replaced it and tested again. Igniter turns on, shuts off, then power to the second gas valve turns...

No heat in gas dryer Peter S. • Glenview , IL • April 23, 2024
Realizing that there could be multiple reasons for a gas dryer failing to heat, I decided to test everything I could. The very detailed and product specific video showed me how to disassemble the dryer. The thermostat, cycling thermostat, high limit, flame detector, igniter, gas valve coils and timer all showed correct continuity or resistance. I thought it might be the gas valve itself, but felt that wasn't likely so I decided to go ahead and replace the thermostats and limit switch since...

It was taking unusually long to dry a typical load Robert L. • Williamsburg , VA • November 15, 2014
I removed the front panel and observed the heating element while running the dryer. It was cycling off every minute or so and staying off for several minutes. Even though it was likely the high temp cycling thermostat I replaced both the 14, and 15 cycling thermostats which I think are the original factory units. That makes them nearly 35 years old. Problem fixed.

This replacement part is a high-limit thermostat, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. This high-limit thermostat is typically found in dryers and controls the heat inside the drying tub. This is especially important as different dryer settings require different amounts of heat. If the high limit thermostat works properly, the temperature inside the tub should reach the correct amount during each drying cycle with no issues. A new high-limit thermostat might be needed if the user notices that the dryer is unable to reach the appropriate level of heat for a certain drying cycle. This is also true if the dryer is becoming too hot when the heat is supposed to be set to low. Make sure the dryer is cooled down prior to replacing this part as the areas in the back of the dryer can become very hot during use. Be sure to reference the specific user manual for more instructions on how to replace the thermostat. This thermostat is sold individually and is a genuine OEM part. The thermostat is sourced directly from the manufacturer.
