• Door latch failure

Had to remove the screws that hold the dish washer to the counter top by knocking them out of the counter top. After seeing how the door handle worked I will not have to do again as all you have to do to open is stick a long screw driver up inside and push the chip and it opens. Ordered handle installed it now everything works fine. $29.00 for little plastic handle seems quiet rediculous but Kitchenaid and parts direct where $39.00 so I guess I got a bargain. I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Now the balanced and secure dishwasher washes better than ever and I did not have to pay an extraordinary fee for a repairman. I'm 68 and take care of a 72 year... Read more

Everything works great, but my Jenn-Air stove is more than 15 years old and really needed a face lift. To replace it will cost about $3000.00 to replace, to replace missing and old parts around $500.00. • Door won't open after self cleaning cycle

I knew the door latch was suppose to lock for self clean and it wasn't, so I took the back off and after tracing out wires and the linkage to the door latch, determined that it was a faulty motor on the latch lock. Remove the 3 screws from the back of the top cover Pull backward about 2 inches and lift the top off Reach in and disconnect the the door latch wiring Remove the 2 screws that hold the latch to the door frame Pop the latch loose from the plastic holder on the right side by pushing it forward Replace the switch with the new one and repeat each step in reverse Read more

I have a Kenmore dishwasher and this is the second time doing this repair. The dishwasher door wouldn’t click in place when closed and the lights on the control panel wouldn’t turn on. My kids like to push on the handle to get onto the counter causing the latch assembly piece to break after awhile. It’s a simple fix with the hardest part being getting the front panel lined back up to put back on. I ended up not needing the strike piece but got it just in case it had been bent. Read more

Removed control panel where latch and handle are located beneath. Removed front cover plate of dishwasher to reach last handle screw and removed a wire connector to the latch. Then replaced parts in reverse order of disassembly. Read more
