Frigidaire Restricted Air Duct Parts

I had an appliance repair guy come and he told me it was possibly the vent assembly but if changing it didn't fix the problem it would be the control board next. He felt it was not worth the money to repair because he would have to disconnect everything just to get to the vent on the right rear top of the dishwasher. Seems like a poor design-hose developed a leak from rubbing on the support pad beneath it. Pretty easy fix if you follow one of the instructional videos online as far as how to get the front panel off of the washer. You can't change this part from the rear access panel. It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. Replaced pump. All components are accessible from the front of the machine. You have to remove two screws in the back that hold on the top cover, then slide the cover back. This will allow access to the screws that hold on the control panel. Remove the control panel (unplug cable), then remove the spring/wire that holds on the door bellows to the front panel (removing and installing that is the most difficult part of the job) and carefully remove the bellows from the front panel. Our washing machine door boot seal was getting moldy and causing odor problems. Cleaning tablets and bleach weren't helping so it was time to be replaced. While I had the top and front off I changed all the hoses that could be collecting soap scum and mold, all other wetted parts were removed and washed. We bought a house with an over-the-range microwave, which just recirculated air into our house--not effective for smoky meals! We removed the microwave and cut a hole to send the exhaust out the back of the microwave (and out of our house), but realized we were missing this damper and frame that go on the back of the microwave for rear exhaust. I changed the pump and also discovered the coin trap was wearing thin because it was rubbing against the sheet metal. So I replaced that as well. It took about 15 minutes to remove the coin trap and pump and about 20 minutes to install. The shipping was amazingly fast. I received the parts the next morning. Simply open the top of the washer by inserting a putty knife (watch YouTube ) and then the front panel by removing two bottom philips head screws on the front. The whole front panel comes right off. Using pliers the spring clams holding each hose, they come off and each hose is replaced. The drain one was only leaking but since it has open I changed both and even the drive belt. I replaced the duct with the "new improved" replacement part. Hopefully it will solve the problem! Of course one of about twenty screws was unrecoverable. Had to grind the head off! Otherwise quite easy. Read more

My only problem was I didn't have the part in stock. I do maintenance at a 150 unit Apt. complex. The fridgidare model we have all 3 shelves are different.
