I replaced the probe which is a thermocouple. Naturally the connector was different from the one on the stove so I cut off the connector on the old probe and soldered it to the new probe. The cleaning of the wires and soldering them was the most time consuming activity of the repair. My wife just tried the stove and the oven temperature read exactly as the setting. Read more

When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Andrew helped me trouble shoot the problem. First I replaced the elments but that did not fix the problem. When I spoke with Andrew he told me how to test the OHMS on the new and old element and they were both readying 26 OHMS. I then replaced the control panel for the clock and oven controls.
