Washer won't start or door won't lock? This door lock motor and switch assembly fixes both issues. Moderate DIY repair requires removing screws and gasket.
Replaced door lock. It required removing the two screws around the lock, pulling the spring hoop wire from around the door gasket, and then disconnecting the two wire terminals from the lock. Reverse with the new part. After cracking open the old lock the failure was caused by a thin plastic tab breaking off. I also bought the door switch since it's cheap - just in case the problem was not the lock. But the door lock was the fix. Read more

This basket assembly is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in front-load washing machines. This assembly is part of the washer's drive system. It is on top of the clutch and transmission system. It contains the spin tube shaft and brake system for the spin basket. If the washing machine is making loud noises during the spin cycle or won't spin at all, the basket assembly should be replaced. A screwdriver, socket wrench set and ratchet, hammer, and spanner wrench are needed to make this repair. Disconnect the water and power to the washing machine. Wear work gloves when making these repairs. Make sure the machine is pulled away from the wall, and there is plenty of room to work while disassembling the machine. Remove the top console and then the washing machine cabinet. Take the tub ring and agitator off the machine. Remove the spin basket and drive block and release the drive block. Remove and replace the basket drive. Reverse the order and reassemble the washing machine. Reconnect the power and water. This basket assembly is sold individually. It is designed for washing machines manufactured by General Electric.
Damper shock absorber for washers. Mounts between outer tub and base to cushion spin motion. Replace if cracked, leaking, or weakened to restore stability.
I didn't end up fixing it. I guessed wrong that it was the Damper Shocks. They came quickly thought and install was a snap. The drum still knocks in spin cycle and that's a major disassembly repair I don't care to do. Read more
