Switch
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304493153

The Door Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is a component located on the oven door that detects when the door is opened and closed. The door switch works alongside the control board to regulate oven operations based on door position.

Symptoms of a bad door switch can include:

  • Oven failing to automatically go into bake or warm modes after door closure
  • Interior lights not turning on when the door is opened
  • Control buttons/display remaining constantly lit instead of dimming
  • Oven not heating or functioning properly in different modes

Causes relate to normal wear over extended use as the door switch mechanism cycles with frequent door openings and closings. Moisture exposure or impacts could also degrade switch performance.

This OEM Frigidaire switch is compatible with Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and some Electrolux wall oven models as well.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire microwave oven lights and timer work but oven doesn't heat   Reese F. • Essex Junction , VT • August 16, 2015

I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). That was about the most difficult part of the repair. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Turntable not spinning   Thomas G. • Ottawa , IL • March 19, 2014

Start bye removing the three screws that hold the underside of the microwave up. Once those are undone, the panel pivots down. You then need to un-attach the lights so the panel will totally come off and out of the way. The motor is plainly visible. Remove the power plug and remove the one screw then it twists out of its slot. Install the new motor and reverse the directions. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave making loud humming noise   Ken S. • Cumberland , RI • February 24, 2015

We had a problem with the magnetron a few years ago while it was still under warranty so they sent me a new magnetron but when the repairman showed up he had a new one also and said just keep it as a spare (no charge). It's an over-the-range microwave so taking it down takes a little bit of an effort, cumbersome more than anything. Capacitor (Compressor Start)
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304467671

What's included: One capacitor. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before accessing the capacitor.
  • Discharge the capacitor before touching terminals to avoid shock.
  • Note wire locations or photograph connections before removal; reconnect wires exactly.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Noisy microwave   Richard G. • Cypress , TX • September 08, 2014

After checking on the internet for the probable causes of the noise in my microwave and confirming the diagnosis by listening to where the noise was coming from, I decided to replace the magnetron. A few days later, the part from AppliancePartsPros.com was delivered to my door. I've never repaired a microwave before, but it wasn't too difficult; I just kept removing parts until I could get to the one I was looking for. Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Would not turn on   Leslie M. • Ft Walton Beach , FL • April 18, 2016

When using the microwave it made a frying sound and completely stopped working. Took cover off (after unplugging) and found filter coil solder joints fried. Took a chance on replacing filter. Works perfectly now. Looking at the solder joints again, under magnification, discovered they were not done properly in the first place. Use caution with cover off, there is a capacitor near the filter that could prove dangerous. Also need tamper proof torx bit to remove 2 of the cover screws, or small... Read more
