Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB21X22134

The Oven Temperature Sensor Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE electric wall ovens. It is responsible for accurately reading the oven's internal temperature to provide precise temperature control and safe operation. Consistent and precise temperature readings are necessary for repeatable cooking results.

  • Fluctuating temperatures causing inconsistent results
  • Error codes or fault messages related to temperature regulation
  • Potential safety concerns if temperatures run too high or low

Causes of a faulty sensor can be due to failures over extended usage, exposure to high heat cycles, or impedance changes due to dirt or mineral deposits. Precise temperature readings allow for confident cooking.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven would not come to full temperature; unreliable heating; heating elements apparently ok.   Stewart W. • Silver Spring , MD • May 07, 2022

My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. I suspected the control board was faulty, but there was a chance that it might be the (*much* less expensive) temperature sensor, so I ordered both from AppliancePartsPros.com (which got the parts to me very fast) so I could try the T-sensor first. After removing the doors and the back panel of the oven, and taking out... Read more

Thermal Fuse
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB24T10060

The Thermal Fuse is an OEM part for GE ranges. This component is a safety device to protect the range from overheating. It is located in the electrical circuit and acts as a fail-safe to cut off the power supply to the range if it detects excessive heat.

Causes of a faulty thermal fuse can include power surges, overheating due to prolonged use, or other electrical issues. When the fuse blows, it interrupts the electrical flow, preventing potential damage to the range's sensitive components and ensuring user safety.

Symptoms of a bad fuse may include:

  • The range not turning on or functioning at all.
  • The oven not heating up or not reaching the desired temperature.
  • The range displaying error codes related to temperature issues.

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE profile in wall oven gave F 9 code and would shut off after 30 minutes   Matthew M. • Fairfield , CA • July 23, 2018

The F9 error code is supposed to indicate that the door lock mechanism has failed. My oven would give the F9 code and turn off during normal baking at 400 F after about 30-40 minutes. It turns out that GE must have programmed the error codes incorrectly in my model, because the real problem was that my control board cooling fan was no longer functional, and one of the two thermal switches was shutting off the unit when the control board area got too hot. Symptoms of bad broiler pans include:

  • Grease fires caused by dripping grease contacting the heating element
  • A burnt or smoky flavor transferring to foods
  • Difficulty removing baked-on grease and food deposits
  • Pans that are misshapen or developing small cracks

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burned out broiler element   Robert H. • Downers Grove , IL • June 18, 2016

Would advise before doing this repair to watch the video for it. It is not a plug in connection anymore like older ovens. The key is to keep the connecting wires from the oven from falling or pulling into the inner wall of the oven. The wires may not come very far out away from the wall of the oven so make sure to secure them. The video shows a good way to do that. If you have an in wall oven this is very important because it would hard and time consuming to pull the oven out of the wall to... Read more

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB24T10081

The Hi-Limit Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE ranges. It is a safety component responsible for monitoring internal oven temperatures. The hi-limit switch helps prevent overheating by detecting when excessive heat has built up inside the oven cavity. It will automatically cut power to the bake/broil elements if temperatures rise too high.

Causes of a bad hi limit switch can include normal failure after years of exposure to heat, or issues with the electronic components or calibration.

Symptoms of a bad hi-limit switch include:

  • The oven failing to heat up or bake/broil food properly
  • Frequent thermal cut outs requiring the oven to be unplugged
  • Delays in the oven reaching the set temperature
  • Oven will not turn on

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven door wouldn't close tightly new hinges didn't fix the problem   Paul S. • East Wenatchee , WA • October 26, 2020

All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years.
