The first thing I did was call appliance pros. The tec told me it was a good chance it was the thermostat. He told how to test it with my ohm meter and what range it should be in. When bake was set, the stove would function normally, it would show pre-heating then get up to temperature and beep twice like normal when it reached the set temperature. Shortly after it would start beeping and scroll “ fault detected, press start to try again” across the display. I first diagnosed the problem by replacing the burner control (Infinite switch) with one from a smaller burner (one that I knew worked fine). That seemed to solve the problem. I ordered the correct control for the big burner on Saturday night, it arrived Tuesday and installed it in less than 10 minutes using only a Phillips screwdriver. Took the stove apart*, saw where the mouse had made a nest. It was kind of like a hotel room after a rock star had used it. It was nasty, is what I'm saying. I removed the insulation, which immediately went into a garbage bag and was placed outside, whereupon I took off and nuked the site from orbit.
