Symptoms of a bad gas valve coil kit include:
- Inconsistent or incomplete drying
- Slow or intermittent drying
- Burning smell from the gas dryer
- Improper burner ignition or non-ignition
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Flame to dry clothes would go out after about a minute and wouldn't reignite Wendell M. • Brown Deer , WI • June 19, 2014
I'm starting with a quick background on my dryer. About 18 months ago the belt on the dryer started slipping and squealing. I had a can of belt dressing spray so I popped the top open and sprayed the belt. It actually worked for about a year before it started squealing again. For the next 6 months I had to spray it more and more often. Then the clothes stopped drying. Obviously, at this point, I had to get off my lazy ass and fix the dryer. Searched my dryer's model number on the internet and...

Symptoms of a faulty limiter include:
- Dryer not achieving proper temperatures or taking too long
- Yellow flames indicating abnormal gas-to-air ratios
- Fault codes showing problems with gas valve readings
Causes can range from debris accumulation reducing gas flow to mechanical wear of linkage components. This replacement restores optimized operation.
This OEM replacement part is compatible with select KitchenAid and Maytag brand models.

I needed to convert from lp to natural gas Mark S. • Raleigh , NC • June 01, 2015
Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter.
Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP.
I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just...

The Natural Gas Orifice is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool gas dryers. Installed within the dryer burner assembly, it regulates gas fuel flow into the burner.
Common causes relate to natural deposits obstructing the small gas port, as well wear inducing intermittent ignition of flames during many years of laundering cycles.
Symptoms of a failed orifice include:
- Slow or inefficient drying times and extended cycles
- Uneven or incomplete drying of loads
- Changes in flame appearance like higher than normal yellow tips
This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some Kenmore models.

Propane to natural gas conversion on range and dryer Vincent P. • Howell , NJ • October 09, 2014
Confirmed parts needed through online chat with tech and followed video instructions for dryer conversion. Found a video online for range conversion. Replaced orifices for stove top and adjusted oven burner orifices and air shutters and inverted pin in pressure regulator to natural gas position. All went well with no problems, about an hour and a half to gather tools and complete both jobs. Probably could be done faster but I was taking my time.

This burner tube channels the gas-air mixture to the burner and includes an adjustable air shutter to set proper combustion. Replacing a damaged assembly helps restore reliable ignition, stable flame, and consistent heating performance.
- Directs the fuel/air mixture from the gas valve to the burner port
- Integrated adjustable shutter regulates primary air for proper flame
- Helps maintain efficient heat output and reliable burner operation
- Failure can present as no or intermittent heat, burner that lights then goes out, yellow/lazy flame, or soot
What's included: One burner tube with attached adjustable air shutter Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply; allow the appliance to cool before servicing
- Access the burner compartment and transfer any clips/brackets from the original tube
- Note the current shutter position; after installation, adjust for a steady blue flame
- After reassembly, leak-test gas connections with a soap solution and verify burner operation

Dryer not heating Ray M. • Marissa , IL • October 03, 2014
I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. They arrived in about three days. I had to attach the igniter to the bracket (one screw) and then the bracket to the burner (one screw). The only...

This replacement gas valve controls gas flow to the burner in a gas dryer, enabling safe ignition and consistent heat. When it fails, the burner may not light and loads can stay damp; replacing it restores proper drying performance.
- Opens and closes gas flow to the burner when heat is called for
- Shuts off gas when the cycle ends or heating is not active
- Common symptoms: dryer runs but has no heat or the burner never ignites
- May present as the ignitor glowing or clicking repeatedly without flame, or intermittent heat
What's included: One gas valve assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Work in a ventilated area and allow the dryer and burner to cool
- Use only gas-rated thread sealant on threaded connections
- After installation, turn on gas and check all joints for leaks with a soap-and-water solution
For gas dryers only.

The gas Dryer would not dry clothes because the pilot would ignite but the gas would turn on for a moment then turn off. Eventually the gas would not come on at all. Kenneth S. • Columbus , MI • March 24, 2014
I decided the problem was with the gas valve and I found the part on your web site. I ordered it and received the part in 3 days. I replaced the valve and the dryer works like new! This also gave me an opportunity to vacuum out the dust/lint that collects in and around the dryer.
