This is a replacement skid shoe for Craftsman snowblowers. Ideally, when one shoe becomes so worn that it needs to be replaced, the other shoe should be replaced as well. Replacement is not difficult and should only require about half an hour. First, take out the key and disconnect the plug wire to prevent the machine from starting during repair. Remove the carriage bolts, nuts, and washers that hold the skid shoes in place. Replace the skid shoes. Ensure that the adjustable skids shoes are elevated enough that the snow blades will not collide with the ground during use. This will prolong the life of the shave plate. This OEM part fits a variety of different snowblowers made by Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Montgomery Wards, Bolens, Yard-Man. Sold individually. The carriage bolts that hold the shoe in place may also need to be replaced and are sold separately.

Part Number: 790-00091-0637
Slide shoes, otherwise known as skid shoes, are attached to a snowblower to help protect the concrete it moves over. The slide shoe also helps to protect the underside of the snowblower. They are composed of metal and are attached to the bottom of the machine. With use, the slide shoes may wear down. They can also become defective from accidents while operating the snow throwing machine. When the slide shoes are not working correctly, there can be irreversible damage done to both the snowblower and the concrete. Replacement slide shoes can easily be attached to the bottom of a snowblower. Be sure to allow the machine to cool down completely. It's recommended to set the snowblower on top of a piece of cardboard. Remove the old shoes and install the new ones, tightening all nuts and washers while the skid shoe is flat on the ground. This is a manufacturer supplied OEM MTD snowblower slide shoe. Each shoe is sold separately. The slide shoe is made of high-quality, durable black steel. It is suggested to replace both shoes simultaneously to ensure an even and consistent path for the MTD snowblower.

Genuine Mtd part

Part Number: OEM-784-5580
This set of two slide shoes is a genuine OEM replacement parts-set for a snowblower. Slide shoes rest on the bottom of the auger housing and help it to glide smoothly against the ground. This lets the auger gather snow without the housing bumping up and down. Every snowblower has two slide shoes: one on each side of the auger housing. They are positioned so that the center openings face outwards. Slide shoes take a lot of abuse while sliding along the ground. Even though they are made of sturdy steel, they can still be banged and dented to the point that they need replacing. If heavily dented, they may no longer glide smoothly and impede the blower's effectiveness. To replace damaged slide shoes, use a socket wrench to unbolt them from the auger housing. Be sure not to lose the mounting bolts, as they will be used for reassembly. This set of slide shoes is designed to be used with Huskee, MTD, Yard Man, and Yard Machines snowblowers. It comes sourced from its original manufacturer and includes two slide shoes. This set does not include any of the hardware required for assembly.

Genuine Husqvarna part
By: Husqvarna
Part Number: 532174762
This replacement part is a left-hand skid plate for snowblowers. It is sometimes also called a slide shoe. Along with the scraper on the snowblower, the metal skid plate helps to prevent damage to the machine. It also allows the user to have better control when going over uneven surfaces. Although the skid plate is durable and meant to provide protection, it can still wear out eventually or even break in some circumstances. There is also the possibility of corrosion, as it is made from metal. In those cases, it is important to replace the skid plate. This is a left-handed plate, but it is advised that owners replace both the left and the right skid plates at the same time. This is an OEM replacement part specifically for use with snowblowers. It is important to remember that it is sold individually, and the right-hand skid plate will need to be purchased separately. The part is compatible with many Craftsman, Poulan, Poulan Pro, and Husqvarna machines.

Genuine Midwest Engine part

Part Number: 1740912BMYP
This is a snowblower height adjustment skid plate, also called a shoe. It is attached to the blower so the height of the scoop can be raised to allow adequate clearance. Snowblowers work by skimming cement surfaces like sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and streets to remove snow. Over time, the shoes will experience wear from constant friction, causing the blades to come closer to the ground. The shoes are designed to leave behind a thin film of snow, which protects the blades from the cement surface below and the cement from being scarred by the blades.
The underlying surface eventually wears out the skid plates. At that point, the skid shoes must be raised again to protect the blades and auger from hitting the ground. If the blade on the snowblower has been adjusted, the skid shoe will also need to be adjusted. This is easily accomplished. First, place the blower on a level flat surface. Loosen the exterior bolts on either side of the blower with a ratchet and place a spacer beneath the blade housing so that, if running, the blade would not touch the ground. With the skid plates loosened, adjust it down so it touches the ground, then tighten the bolts that hold them in place.
This is an OEM genuine replacement part manufactured by Genuine Midwest Engine and will fit virtually all one phase snowblowers. This OEM part is sold individually.
