This is a genuine OEM replacement o-ring sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on range vent hood switches. The o-ring provides a tight seal for the switch and keeps smoke from escaping through the switch connection. If the o-ring becomes worn or damaged, the vent will not remove smoke during cooking and should be replaced. Heat and debris pulled through the vent may cause the o-ring to warp. O-rings are not designed to last forever and may need to be replaced during the life of the appliance to keep it functioning correctly. To start, disconnect the power to the vent hood and dismantle the vent in order to reach the switch. To start, disconnect the switch and locate the o-ring. Remove the old one and dispose of it. Place the new o-ring in the groove and press firmly to seal the part. Lubrication is not necessary for installing the new o-ring. Reassemble the switch and put the vent hood back in place. Connect the power and try the switch to make sure it works. This o-ring is made of heavy-duty black rubber is and sold individually. It is designed for use in range hoods manufactured by Thermidor.
Found replacing the switch to be doable, but it was quite a delicate operation. This was for a Thermador range with a broken downdraft switch. It required the removal of 5 small screws which could easily be fumbled and dropped down where it would be difficult, if not impossible to retrieve. Two of the screws were facing the back, so it was a blind operation to remove and replace the screws. Required an offset screwdriver, as space was tight. So, be EXTREMELY careful to not drop the screws and... Read more

I ordered replacement filters--the filters fit inside the vent. I did not have a part number, just the model and the size. These fit great! My down draft was installed in 1996, so I was afraid the part might not be available. Success! Read more

I called a local repair company and they said that it needed a new control unit. They called back a day or two later and told us that the part was no longer available. The order was processed quickly and efficiently and my wife and I installed the new parts and the hood works just like new. I would recommend your company even to... Read more
Drive link assembly connects the internal drive system to the blower fan in your range hood. Replace when worn, cracked, or causing uneven motion.
Found a knowledgeable helper who took the unit apart and replaced the Drive Arm Assembly and Drive Link. We had also replaced the switches and motor a month before, when we then noticed that the unit was not retracting at an even rate of speed. I'm estimating that it took 1-2 hours because the unit is in the middle of a kitchen island. We needed to remove and replace storage drawers to access the unit, which took as long as the repair itself. The old c. 1998 Drive Arm Assembly was very worn... Read more
