Inlet valve to icemaker
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Ice maker was freezing up and water was dripping from the water fill point in the door Scott D. • Roscoe , IL • April 28, 2016
I replaced the valve that turns the water flow on/off to the door and to the ice maker. It was allowing water to seep internally past it's seals. Replacing the valve solved both problems. Simple job, no more than 10 minutes start to finish..

This starter is a small electrical device that helps the refrigerator or freezer compressor start reliably, restoring proper cooling when the compressor struggles to power up. Replace a failed starter to bring the compressor back to dependable operation. What it does:
- Supplies the initial start current to the compressor so it can spin up and begin the refrigeration cycle.
- Common symptoms of a failing starter: refrigerator or freezer not cooling, compressor hums or vibrates but won't run, repeated clicking noises at the back, or intermittent cooling.
- Works with the appliance's existing compressor wiring and start circuit to restore normal starting performance when compatible.
What's included: Includes: One starter. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power to the appliance before attempting any repair.
- The starter typically mounts on or near the compressor and may require pulling the appliance away from the wall and removing the rear access panel.
- Handle terminals and wiring carefully; match connectors and orientation to the original part.

The Power Cord is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. As the lifeline connecting the appliance to a wall outlet, this cord safely delivers necessary voltage to operate refrigerator systems.
Potential causes for needing a new power cord include exposure to cuts, abrasions or rodent damage over time in the storage area. Repeated bending stress during installation or removal can also wear out plastic insulation faster.
Symptoms of a faulty power cord include:
- Refrigerator fails to power on at all
- Flickering lights or inconsistent runs of the compressor
- Shock, buzzing or humming sounds coming from the cord
- Bare copper wire showing through damaged insulation
This power cord also fits some Electrolux and Gibson refrigerators.
