Marc B Rogers , AR January 03, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KSRB22FKSS03 Refrigerator was not cold enough (hovering around 50 degrees) The air damper was not operating so the cold air from the freezer could not get into the refrigerator. The part from AppliancePartsPros.com did work but not without a slight modification. I read one post related to the same part where the customer thought he received the wrong part because he couldn't get the clips to engage the freezer wall. The response from this site was that he received the correct part but he just had to push really hard. Armed with this knowledge I was prepared to have to push hard to install the new air damper. However, even pushing to the point the Styrofoam enclosure on the part started to break the clips would not engage. At this point I compared the clip length on the replacement part to the original part and found that, in fact, the replacement part clips were approximately 3/32" shorter. No amount of pushing was going to make up the difference. I cut off roughly half of the foam gasket around the opening to make it thinner but still left enough to seal. This allowed the clips to reach through the freezer wall and connect properly. Aside from that the installation was simple and effective. My refrigerator is now nice and cold as it should be. The information on this site was very helpful in determining what my problem was and how to test to make sure that was the problem before ordering the part. My advise to anyone ordering this part is to compare the clip length on the replacement with your original part as soon as you remove the old part. If the clip length is significantly different then modify the foam seal thickness to compensate so you don't risk destroying the replacement part in the process of installing it. I was able to repair my replacement part where the Styrofoam broke but others may not be so lucky. Kai S Firestone , CO April 23, 2016 Bad fridge diffuser After researching on the web I narrowed the problem down to 3 possibilities. My 2001 Kenmore (whirlpool) cold spot fridge most likely had a bad diffuser. Freezer worked fine but fridge was not cold. For 2 years I had a screwdriver shoved into diffuser to keep it open (found this trick online too). Wife finally tired of the produce freezing in fridge and ice clumping together in freezer. Screwdriver rig was not perfect, but hot us by. I ordered part on a Sunday, arrived on a wed (super fast delivery AND I paid low price regular delivery fee!) and fixed Thursday night. Appliance-Parts-Pro video really helped re:expectaions and planning. To be honest it took me longer to empty the fridge and to perform a super cleaning job inside and out (might as well, right?) than to repair. Just like a new fridge now. I should not have procrastinated as long as I did! Will definitely use AppliancePartsPro.com again!! Part was less than $50 including shipping costs...sure beats buing a new fridge for $1800!! Dale G Beaverton , OR May 20, 2022 My refrigerator stopped cooling but freezer worked fine First, I was prepared to buy a new refrigerator. The appliance is 22 years old, but the cost of a new refrigerator during supply chain problems and availability was going to be concerning. When I googled the symptoms, I was surprised to see there were a few reasons for the problem. I found two great videos from AppliancePartsPros. I chose to buy my part from AppliancePartsPros because their video was so helpful. The part arrived in two days, the repair took a few hours but I’m happy to say our old refrigerator is working like new. I cleaned the coils and my wife cleaned the freezer and fridge. It’s like new and working great! Thank you for your excellent customer service and instructional videos. Read More...
