Mark W Charlotte , NC March 28, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Slide-In Electric Range JES8850BAS20 There were two problems: 1 the 4 or 5 of the soft touch buttons on the control panel had quit working 2 the burner switch on the far left had starting making a clicking noise in the off position Once the oven was powered off and pulled out from the counter top about 6-8 inches, the 6 screws were removed from the control panel (4 underneath and 1 on each side). The control panel was gently pulled forward. I took several pictures of the multiple wire harness connections and then determined the best way to disconnect them. After all wiring was disconnected, the new switch was mounted in place. Next, the 3 other old switches were transferred to the new control panel. Then all of the red light tabs and the right sided burner flip switch were removed and installed on the new control panel. These parts were very delicate so great care was taken not to damage them during the de-installation from the old control panel. Last, the old circuit board was removed and re-installed in the new control panel and all wiring harnesses were connected. The 6 screws were then installed in the new control panel and power was turned back on to confirm that all functions were now in working order poor to sliding the stove back into place on the countertop.
