Replace the control panel to restore a clean, secure interface for selecting settings and protecting the controls. Ideal when the original panel is cracked, dented, loose, or its graphics are worn and hard to read.
After an over spill on the range one day, half the buttons on our control panel no longer worked. Well the bake button worked so we kept using that and only using the oven on 350 degrees for almost a year. Well, finally the bake button went the way of the others and the oven would not turn on due to the buttons not working. We bought the Control Panel Part and traded it out. It was a very simple fix...figuring out how to get the built in oven out was harder than this replacement. I think... Read more
This Whirlpool touchpad and control panel is intended for use with wall ovens. The control panel and touchpad provide users with the ability to control the oven's functions. The touchpad can wear out through normal, everyday use over time. The panel itself, although made from stainless steel and very durable, can also begin to wear if not properly cleaned and maintained.Signs that the touchpad might need to be replaced include difficulty pressing the buttons and operating the oven. If the overlay on the display is difficult to read, or if the metal is corroding, it should also be replaced. Before replacing this part, first turn off the breaker to the oven. Then, remove the two screws at the top of the display and pull outward. Remove the control board from the inside and install it in the new panel, then install the panel. This is a genuine OEM part, sold individually. It fits Maytag wall ovens only.
Very easy plug and play. My only issue was diagnosis of the problem "my problem". Based on reading on the internet I ordered to control board first. waste of money. Originally, I was told by Appliance Parts technician that the control board needed replacing. I ordered a new board and replaced it. No change. Called another AP technician and he said it is the panel control board which is the keypad that needed replacing and promptly provided me a return authorization number to return the control board. I replaced the panel control board (key pad) and all is working once again. I probably saved $600 by doing it myself. Read more

My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. Since one of our parts was the entire front head, it went together quickly and it was a perfect... Read more

It was very easy. First, researched the problem online and found a great video on YouTube which clearly showed the same problems we were having. Went to AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the new Front Control Panel for about $230 along with a new oven door gasket for about $20 (YouTube video talks about how heat escapes quite easily and it is best to replace the gasket often). To replace the control panel you have to remove 2 side screws (1 on each side likely hidden by the counter) and 4... Read more

One day our house lost power for only about a second or two, and then everything in the house came back as normal, except now half the buttons on the stove front didn't work. It made more sense to me that it was the sensitive electronic computer board and not the front panel which just holds the buttons that was fried, however I had read online how some other people had fixed a similar problem with replacing the panel with the buttons. Thanks to this site's fantastic return policy, I decided to... Read more

After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." All my neighbors who has this model has reported that the touchpad stopped responding after a few years. Replacing was fairly simple. 1. Turn off the electricity to the range at the breaker 2. Pull the range out by an inch or two 3. On each side of the control panel, remove the screws. 4. Open the oven door and remove the 4 hex screws under the control... Read more

After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone. I did a search for the part using our model number and read the reviews on this site and thought we'd give it a try. It was a very easy repair--anyone could do it. You basically remove four side screws and then the screws behind the knobs. Once you pull the front away, there are 4 screws holding... Read more
