John H R Puyallup , WA December 10, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Slide-In Electric Range JES9860BAS19 Burnt out touch pad strip in the control panel After lots of online research to determine what the problem was with my 13 year old Jenn-Air (Whirlpool) downdraft oven/range Appliance Parts Pros was called. Their rep confirmed that a defective touch pad was the issue so I ordered a new control panel. Owing to the age of my oven I also ordered a new oven door gasket and a replacement stove knob. I requested installation instructions which were poorly covered in a Whirlpool repair manual which APP sent me via email. Fortunately, there was a helpful video on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo_NGM28ABQ ) which showed some detail I needed concerning removal of electrical connections from the old panel. That video was really all that I needed to proceed with confidence to repair the oven and at a fraction of a new units cost. Phew! Appliance Parts Pros were great to deal with. Test proved touch pad no good. Ordered proper part (touch pad) installed same and back in business. Did have several delays in getting part. It was ordered 7/27/18 it arrived 9/10/18 Other then that I am very satisfied with the results Read More... John J Eufaula , AL February 10, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Slide-In Electric Range JES9800BAS18 Front touch screen quit working Ordered a new front panel with the touchscreen included. Unscrew the front panel, pull off the burner knobs and remove the screws for them. Remove the 4 screws holding the computer board and unplug the ribbon connector from the old front panel. The lights for the burners remove by sliding them left. Push the red plastic pieces out. Snap them into the new panel, slide the clips back into place, mount the computer and attach the new ribbon connector, mount the 4 burner controls and secure the new front panel. Read More...
