John M Lake Orion , MI November 26, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool 4 1/2 Qt. Stand Mixer Classic - Tilt K45SSAC-0 No stir or slow speed on older (mid 1980s) Kitchenaid would go to "high" as soon as it was turned on I bought the 3 components- Speed Control Plate, Speed Governor, and Phase Control Board after researching what components could be the culprit of the issue. I started out by replacing the speed control board and the governor, which had no effect on the issue. I replaced the Phase Control Board and the issue was resolved. All in all about 1.5 hours of work to do all 3 parts from tear down to button-up. Robert C Augusta , WI April 29, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid Portables - Stand Mixer KSM90 Stopped working speed control, was intermittent before it quit (it was going on for a while) I purchased a new speed control plate, governor, phase control board and seal. As long as I was fixing it, I just changed everything. As I was removing the old, I found one wire had broken off the control plate and had to replace the flag connector on the wire.(white wire) I followed the videos and they were great!! I would not have known about the speed control adjustments and would have taken the screws out without thinking. The repairs went easy as the video. I checked the adjustment and had the right revolutions at low and 6. However I did not have any different speed above 6. It seemed to be dragging a bit. I took off the planetary and cleaned and applied new grease, put it back together and then had the higher speeds. Magic?? Back in business!! I ordered the parts on a Tuesday morning, they were shipped within a short time, I think less than a hour and had them in my hands the next day. Hard to believe they came so fast (FED EX) I am glad I found you! Thanks! Randall W Kent , WA January 02, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool 4 1/2 Qt. Stand Mixer Classic - Tilt K45SSAC-0 Ran at irregular speeds at low setting Looked at brushes first then played some video from online on how to adjust the speed. Tried that and it did not fix the problem. Went online to AppliancePartsPro and started a conversation with a representative and together we worked on possible fixes. She suggested a phase control board. I also ordered a speed control plate and speed governor just in case. Even though I didn't ask for expedited shipping the parts came in 2 days. The parts order came online with video links to help with the repair. I replaced the phase control board and speed control plate because I had them. The more that I researched the speed governor I realized that it probably was not the problem. I will keep it for backup. Marilyn T Stafford Springs , CT October 31, 2016 My stand mixer was making a lot of noise when using it My husband and I looked at repair videos on line. We first cleaned out all the old grease and replaced it with new. We still could hear the noise so decided to change out the speed control plate and the speed governor. The videos were very helpful and our replacing the parts was a simple one. We still hear the noise, but it is not as prominent as it was. We were amazed at the delivery time.
