While looking on Sears parts page, they had "online technician" feature and I got in a live chat with him. He mentioned some diagnostics but insisted the intake valve in back was the problem. I replaced that for about $90 and the problem was still there. Based on online forums and Appliancepartspros information, I tested the unit and decided it was the emitter board instead. I ordered the part and it works now - the paper provided with the part is the only place I could find an accurate explanation of the light blink error codes- see if you can find it.
if you need ice while waiting for the part -or want to confirm it is the emitter that needs replacing, take off the right emitter panel and put an insulated wire jumper between the black and black/white wires and close the door. If the machine makes ice, then you need a board - remember to remove the jumper when the ice bucket is full or you will have ice all over the freezer.
