Tom W Warrenton , VA June 06, 2014 Appliance: Hoover 2000 Maytag 2000 series washing machine cycle would start fill tub then stop with error code e1f6 On-line chat with AppliancePartsPros told me the error code was was for motor speed and they sent me a .pdf file on what to do to T/S it. Following the sheet I checked motor and Tack resistance and wiring - all OK, so I ordered a Motor Controller Ckt board assy. It arrived in 24 hours, during that time i watched the replacement videos and removed the old part. Upon receiving the new part I installed it (15 min), tested the washer (it worked), then put all the panels back on, pushed the washer back in it's home, and re-leveled the washer (30 min). Then caught up on 3 loads of laundry. Mark B Endicott , NY February 06, 2017 Whirlpool duet front loader would not start cycle and door would not unlock after tripping breaker After trying several other parts (door latch and central control unit (CCU)) based on what commonly goes bad in these units, I found the motor control unit (MCU) which is this part, also called electronic control board, to be defective. It had a large burn mark on the underside of the board where an internal component had burnt out. The part arrived in under two days and was a perfect fit and exact replacement. Wiring harnesses in these models are very easy to remove and clip back into place as they only go in one way and in one spot based on the harness design. I appreciate Appliance Parts Pros policy of taking back items because now I know I can return the central control unit which is in perfect working order but wasn't the problem. Side note: My washing machine did not give me any error codes even in diagnostic modes which made the repair process much more difficult and more of a process of elimination (which is why I rated project time at 2+ hours). Do not rule out this part because your washing machine might check the drum rotation by spinning it slightly at the beginning of all cycles like mine does and if this part is defective it will not start the cycle and the door will remain locked. Greg K Pensacola , FL July 30, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WFW9250WW01 Several error codes Thought there was an issue with the lock so I replaced that and the issue was still there. So I'm sending the replacement lock back. After reading more about the issue and error codes I decided to go for changing out the electronic control board. I pulled the board out from the bottom of the washer and found a capacitor blown on the unit. Changed out the electronic control board and the washer was back to normal. We also had a huge 3-4 inch gash develop in the bellow that water would pour out of (only sometimes) so I replaced it as well. The control board was a super easy swap with just unplugging multi-connectors and simply swapping the unit out. This could be done with only removing the bottom panel of the washer. The bellow change required taking off the top panel and the entire front of the washer but was a fairly easy process. Maybe 7 - 8 screws total for the top and front to come off. The bottom panel is 3 screws on my unit. Very happy to get it going again!
