Daniel K Austin , TX March 10, 2015 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS30IXSS1 None of the buttons on the control panel lit up nor did anything This is a known problem with this whirpool dishwasher, that the electronics in this panel essentially die (presumably due to moisture accumulation) after a few years -- about 4 years in my case. The only hard thing about replacing this part is that you need a "star" screwdriver to pull out all screws that hold the front panel. Besides that, it was easy to figure out, and there are youtube videos as well. Chuck M Medina , OH November 03, 2015 Appliance: Model KUDS30LXSS7 The sensor touch panel wouldn't always function i had to shut off breaker for a minute then turn back on so it maybe would start Replaced with the panel I bought here. It took about 15 minutes. You do not have to remove the whole front panel.Once you remove the screws (torx head) leave the lower 2 screws real loose. The panel can be removed after that. The replacement panel had a piece of double sided tin foil tape applied over 2 slots in the lower section. This was how the manufacturer stopped the heat and humidity from getting to the PC board and causing it to short out prematurely. Mine had actually acted up in the first 30 days. But when I figured out all I had to do was remove the power for a minute and it would reboot I didn't bother for a warranty call. It made it 3years before I had to replace it. We ordered it Thursday evening and it arrived early Saturday morning .FANTASTIC Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
Galen T Greenfield , IN August 26, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS30IXWH9 Upper dish rack wheel assembly broke and switched front panel from white to stainless. The upper rack on the dishwasher fell apart as in the 3 of 4 wheels kept falling off the axle. This is the second time I am replacing these wheels in 12 years. This replacement assembly is metal with rivets holding on the wheels as opposed to the plastic tabs which became brittle and fell off which allowed the wheels to then fall off. Installation instructions have awful dark photos and I spent way to long trying to decipher the poor quality instructions; I then went to youtube, found a video, watched it for about 5 minutes, then took maybe total ten minutes to replace both assembly sides. No big deal after watching the video. Four stars just because of the terrible instructions included with the upper rack adjuster assembly. Save yourself the trouble, trash the instructions and watch a video. Since the last wheel replacement, we have been switching appliances to stainless so I bought the control panel and big panel in stainless, very easy replacement, just remove a few screws on each side, pop off the old and replace with the new upper and lower panel.
