Ruben M Naperville , IL April 21, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher DU1300XTVB1 When the dishwasher would start it's wash cycle the motor would start for a second and turn off I initially purchased a door switch, thinking that it would solve the problem. I replaced the switch by removing the top 6 star screws, removing the component cover and removing one of the door switches (using a 3/16 socket) with the new one that I bought but I still had the problem. Looking at the schematic, the next part that needed to be changed is the electronic control board, which I purchased. I removed the same screws again and cover, used a screwdriver to pull back the clips holding the board, removed the connections one-by-one from the old board and reconnected them to the new board. Put everything back together, tested it and now it works like new. Unplugged the dishwasher. Took the front panel off the dishwasher, unclipped the wires and removed the old control and put the new one in. Robert O Thousand Oaks , CA December 12, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher DU1345XTVQ1 Dishwasher would turn off a couple seconds after the motor would start up We ordered a new control board for the dishwasher. The swap out was very easy. I just watched a youtube video showing how to do it. All it took was a screwdriver to take the front plate off. Richard B Satellite Beach , FL February 22, 2015 Appliance: Model DV1055XTVB1 After filling with water dishwasher immediately shut down Did a factory reset (press normal, heat dry, normal, heat dry, normal) and a diagnostic self test (high temp, air dry, high temp, air dry), but nothing solved the problem. I had read this is a common problem problem and it was a bad control board. Our dishwasher was 4 years old, but seeing as this is a vacation home, it probably only had about 3 months total use. Turn off the power at the breaker, remove the top six screws (torx), pull off the control panel. Lift the three tabs that hold the cover on the inside of the panel, unplug the surface connections by pressing the tabs and pulling. Release the tabs holding the left edge of the board and rotate the board up. Release the edge connectors (tabs again). Remove the cancel/drain button. Reverse the order and your finished. Be sure you discharge and static from yourself by touching any metal part of the dishwasher often (its grounded) and handle the circuit board by the edge. Although probably not necessary, I performed the factory reset after replacing the board).
