Robert W Boulder , CO March 16, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer WED6200SW1 Drum would not turn If I opened door and held door switch, started dryer, turned drum by hand, quickly closed door and pushed start again before drum stopped turning, dryer worked fine. Apparently the part of the motor that gives it more juice on start up went bad. Ordered motor on Monday, received on Wednesday. Blower wheel would not come off the shaft of old motor, chiseled off as shown in motor installation video. Apparently wheel becoming fused to motor shaft is a common problem based on all the comments. Ordered wheel on Wednesday, received on Friday. Both parts were easy and quick to install. Dryer started and works great. What takes the most time, but is not at all difficult, is taking the cabinet apart and putting back together. My dryer has 2 blue wires that plugged into receptacles on the motor mount, the other ends had spade clips that attached to receptacles on the motor. I watched at least three motor installation videos, and not one of the dryers shown had these wires, however I could see the receptacles on the motors they were installing. I guess these, what appear to be ground wires, are not on all models that use this motor. I am glad I did not remove the old motor and these wires before new one came in because I would have not remembered where these wires went as there are several receptacles that look the same but are not used by my dryer. Alan H West Lafayette , IN February 09, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Dryer WGD6600VW1 Dryer "hummed" when i pushed start drum did not turn The Repair: Installed new Loop-Motor-Service. I followed the on-line YouTube video for the step by step disassembly of the dryer. What took the most time was opening the top of the dryer. Apparently the release clips on my dryer were installed backwards at the factory, so I had to find a way to push them from behind and dislodge them. A little bent sheet metal and a few minor scratches later, the lid was open and I was back in business. The rest of the repair went smoothly, although it took a little more force than I anticipated to free the blower fan from the old motor shaft. The Order: I had made a mistake with the billing address, so I received a thorough email explaining the problem. I called customer service and I was connected immediately to a live person! She was friendly and professional and quickly re-entered my purchase order with the corrected information. I was amazed that even though I chose the most economical shipping, Ground for $6.95, my order arrived next day! Conclusion: I would highly recommend appliancepartspros.com. Robert S Sidney , NE September 16, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer WED6200SW1 Dryer drum wouldn't turn Seen video on how to access the drive motor. Didn't realize just how simple it was. I had one other step not shown in the video, but that was as plain as the nose on your face. Ordered the parts on a Friday morning, they shipped that afternoon and I had them by Tuesday at lunch time. Had some minor difficulty removing the exhaust fan blade from the dryer motor, other than that it was a piece of cake. Replaced the dryer motor, hooked it all back up, put it together and it runs like a dream. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
