Richard C Inwood , WV August 29, 2015 Appliance: Amana Washer NTW4600YQ1 Amana m/n: ntw4600yq1 would not drain or finish it's wash cycle traced issue to faulty drain pump I ordered the new pump (P/N: AP4514539) and spanner wrench (P/N: AP4503397). Both parts arrived a day earlier than expected (to my suprise). I removed the inner drum (which required the spanner wrench) and cleaned the inside of the tub, removed the cover over the drain and ensured that there was no debris stuck in the impeller, and replaced the failed pump. I found that the pump had failed due to left over sediment from really hard water. There was build up around the motor that had caused it to seize. All in all, the repair only took roughly an hour in one evening and when I restarted the washer, all functions returned to normal. I ran it through two cycles to ensure their there were no leaks. The customer service from appliancepartspros.com was better than our local parts store and I would highly recommend them for parts purchases. -RC. Christopher B Memphis , TN January 30, 2021 Standing water under the washing machine. No one was in the room when it happened (a little Hamilton), so where the water came from was unclear. I assumed it was the drain pump, although I never saw any water on the underside of the machine. I just couldn't figure out what was happening. I bought the pump, changed it out, and took the machine for a test drive. Standing water again... No one was in the room when it happened. I took a chair and some reading materials and treated the laundry room like the toilet. I sat there through every cycle; something I should have done in the first place. I heard water hitting the floor; because I was in the room when it happened. I saw the water leaking from the drain pump in the wall. I discovered that the kitchen sink would back up at the same time as the drain backing up. The standing water was due to a clogged mainline. I didn't have a snake and I didn't want to take apart the pipes under the kitchen sink which gave access to the outdoor mainline, I called a local plumbing service. They cleared the line, and interestingly enough one of the toilets, and a slow draining shower worked better. The pump wasn't bad, but the machine is running better and all is well. Simply because I got to be in the room where it happened. (Which is important on a few levels ;-) I hope this helps someone.
