The Cooktop is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool cooktops. It acts as the durable and heat-resistant platform where you place your pots, pans, and cookware for cooking. This assembly includes the glass panel itself, which provides the cooking surface for the range, and other elements such as the metal frame or trim that surrounds the glass.
A bad glass main top can occur due to accidental damage, thermal shock, or general wear and tear. If you notice symptoms such as cracks, chips, or an uneven cooking surface, it may be time to replace the glass main top.
Symptoms of a bad cooktop include:
- Cracks or chips on the surface
- Uneven cooking temperature
- Difficulty in cleaning spills or stains
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
