Kelly S Pierson , FL March 25, 2023 Appliance: Roper Washer RTW4641BQ0 Suspension rods worn out. Replaced the suspension rods after watching a video from APP. Have a Roper, the video was something similar but not the same. Had to remove the drain hose (inside) from the back of the washer to have access to the right bottom rod. Not enough room to get your hand in there and do what you need to do. There is a screw on the back, remove that and push the hose/tube into the machine. This will free up much-needed hand space, just slip it back through and replace the screw. Do this before you lay on its back so you don't have to lay it over twice as I did. Parts fit perfectly, waiting for the wife to get home to see if we fixed the problem. Apparently, I am not qualified to operate the machine, only to fix it . Hope this helps. Happy Easter everyone. Janice C Piney Flats , TN January 09, 2023 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW4800BQ1 Washer seriously out of balance. The video was so helpful. We spent time following the video to discover that the problem was indeed the suspension rods, they needed replacing. Our machine would loudly bang, bang, bang out of balance, scaring our little dog. When the new rods arrived we felt confident with repair because we watched the video again. We spent almost an hour with the repair. The washer runs like new again! My husband and I are in our seventies, if we can do this repair, anyone can. It did require a little muscle to position the rods. Be sure to have the correct size quarter inch hex socket wrench or screwdriver to remove the little panel on the back and pliers to pinch the clamp that holds the drain pipe onto the back. Have a bucket and some old towels to absorb the water that will dribble out. Remember to first turn off the water and unplug the electric cord. We are certain we saved hundreds of dollars making this repair ourselves.
