Marc R Warrenton , OR September 07, 2014 Failed touchpad on oven/stove I researched the part, then found a real cheap one on another site. Litterally a split second before I hit "submit payment" I decided to check reviews from other customers on this site because it was so much cheaper. WHEW!! Dodged the bullet. The reviews were terrible, probably would have lost my money. I then researched appliancepartspros and found they had excellent reviews and customer service. I ordered the part. It was correct and arrived very quickly. It was an easy install after checking some YouTube videos for help. Perfect part. Fast shipping. Thank you. Robin H Jamaica Beach , TX January 08, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Gas Slide-In Range GW397LXUS06 Several of the keypad buttons stopped working Called an appliance guy, who said the control panel needed to be changed and quoted me $600. Luckily I Googled the model number and found this website. After seeing that several other people had had the same problem and that the membrane was recommended (not the control panel), I took a chance and ordered the part. One of the other posters recommended a Japanese YouTube video which I easily found and watched first. I highly recommend watching the video first. It's not a hard repair but he gives a few little tips that are worth knowing in advance. Replacement took about 45 minutes and fixed the problem. $112 vs $600 quoted by the appliance guy... needless to say, I'm an Appliance Parts Pros convert! Aaron L Tuttle , OK April 30, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Slide-In Electric Range GY397LXUS02 Whirlpool accubake oven numbers not working Ordered a replacement Switch Membrane for the Whirlpool Acubake Oven from AppliancePartPros.com. It was simple and takes about 10-20 minutes. First unplug the oven (remove the bottom drawer to access the plug). Then remove the front panel by removing a screw from each end (left and right sides), then open the oven door and remove 4 screws on the bottom side of the panel. The switch membrane is stuck to the control panel with 3M tape, so just peel it off to reveal two ribbon cables that feed through a slot on the front panel and connect to a circuit board on the back side of the panel. Press the release lever on the ribbon connectors and wiggle them away from the circuit board. Clean the front of the panel with rubbing alcohol to remove all grease and residual adhesive from the old membrane. Then reverse the process using your new switch membrane to reassemble. The hardest part of the job is getting the new membrane aligned when you stick it down (and that was not that difficult). Dene N Indianapolis , IN September 12, 2016 Appliance: Model PART NUMBER: AP6017095 The bake button did not work We followed online instructions to make the change out. The logistics of unscrewing in place, etc. where a bit challenging, but that may have been fear of breaking something else. After we were able to get the front metal part off the stove/oven, it made the repair very easy. We were thrilled not to have to pay the appliance repair person $450.00 for a part that was $115 and it only took just under 30 minutes. We definitely used our drill with screwdriver heads on it as some of the screws were incredibly tight. Charles M Brookline , MA June 17, 2016 A few of the buttons on the control pad stopped working Take it slowly and carefully. If the stove may need to be pulled out a couple inches to gain access to a screw on either side of the top panel. I followed the instructions from previous writers on this site. It was a little harder than they made out-- took me 45 minutes, although next time I could do it in twenty. Keep track of the screws. For two of the screws, you'll need to use a phillips bit and turn it with a small adjustable wrench (even a small phillips screwdriver won't fit in the space). Be careful disconnecting the two connectors (you see them in the photo of the membrane part)-- you press on a little plastic release tab then jiggle them upwards bit by bit to disconnect them. If you want a video of how to do this-- plug in the model number and you'll find a japanese video that's 45 minutes long that shows how to do it. But if you've done any kind of basic home electrical repair before, you'll figure it out from the descriptions here.
