This wasn't any big surprise though because my washer is now 6 years old. After obtaining the model number of my washer I was able to research the knob online and found it quickly at AppliancePartsPros.com. The best part was it was nearly half the price others wanted. I ordered it and 3 days later it arrived and now my washer is like new again. One additional tip, because these knobs are "locked" in place I watched a YouTube video on how to remove the knob. Anyone with any mechanical understanding will be able to replace this knob without any difficulty at all. Save yourself the $60 house call and watch the video. Since my knob was broken off, I just pushed the center pin down to release the remaining portion of the knob and quickly attached the new knob. To do this I used two tiny screwdrivers to depress the two spring-loaded pinchers inside the broken stem that held the now-broken knob to the selector switch.
