Andrew S Chico , CA February 03, 2017 Dishwasher not working well This is a 12 year old Kenmore, but my experience applies to many dishwashers. The machine had run for almost a year without being cleaned. I found parts had failed from age and water passages were jammed with hard-water deposits and pieces of food, labels, etc. that had gotten past the filters. I cleaned out what I could and replaced parts that could not be cleaned or were damaged. Dishwasher now works better than it has for years. The work, including ordering parts, took about 4 hours, but this beats the alternative of spending abt. $600 n a new dishwasher. Jeff M Saint Louis , MO November 11, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher DU1055XTSS3 Dishes/glasses on top rack not cleaning properly After a wash cycle, the glasses & plates on the top rack looked worse than when we put them in. Very spotty and covered in something that looked like sand. After inspecting the washer, I found that the spray arm and wash spinner were both clogged and cracked. This was causing water to not properly flow through them. I tried to clean them with limited results so I decided to just replace them. They were extremely easy to remove and the parts cost less than $40. After replacing them, the dishwasher cleans like new. Simple and cheap fix with great results. Read More...
