Pablo C Apex , NC November 23, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MFI2569VEM4 Water dispenser made a lot of noise Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. For the not-so-experts like me it is also good to rememebr to have a bucket to collect all the water that comes out after the connection to the solenoid valves is removed. At the end the wife is happy... and that's all that matters Read More... 52 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Wrench Set
Philip S Chesapeake , VA July 27, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2568AEW12 Slow flow & noise when dispensing water (maytag model #mfi2568aew) Replaced the water filter, but that didn't work. From researching online thought it might be the water filter head. The part ordered includes the water filter head as well as the water reservoir. Part received with no instructions. Had to remove all refrigerator internal shelves to get to panel at back of refrigerator. Removed water filter cover, and two panels at back of interior of refrigerator. Also had to unfasten water supply behind refrigerator. Once all this was done, was able to remove the old water filter head and reservoir. Also had to disconnect one hose from the water filter head to a valve that I was not replacing. Connected new part using reverse procedure. This has completely corrected the issue of low water flow from the water dispenser. John D Rockwall , TX September 07, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2568AES12 Water flow was normal at first then after a couple of seconds would be reduced to a trickle This problem only occurred after installing a new filter, it worked fine with the old filter. Read similar stories on line, checked that the solenoid valves were getting power and decided it was the filter head. Filter head and tank all come together. Replacement took about 1 hour. Remove the shelves on the right, pop off the covers on the back with a screw driver in the latch slots. Disconnect water line to valves, disconnect supply line in back. Tank, line and head are easily removed. I was worried that snaking the supply line back into the rear would be an issue but Maytag did a good job of providing a nice channel for this to be pushed through. Michael H Virginia Beach , VA April 20, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG FRENCH DOOR, FREEZER ON BOTTOM No water at door or ice maker It hade a blockage in the water tank head assembly, I ordered both , the water head assembly and the daul water valve . Was going to return water valve but could not figure ot how to get it off without damaging the plastic seats so I replaced both. It was no problem to do and took me all of about 45 minutes, and that included emptying the fridge. This site is a big help, you can ask questions and I shoped around for the parts and they had the best price, but the best thing more than price is they will let you return any part so for me that is good.
