Jj Jones for Model Number GEW9250PL0 Years ago my dryer stopped working. When I hit start you could hear a relay click, but nothing happened. Pulled the board and found a soldered connection on the motor relay had popped, leaving some nasty burn marks. I repaired this and it worked for years. Just happened again, but the connection is fine. I ordered a new relay and replaced it, but still just hear the click when I hit start. Any ideas on what could be preventing the motor from engaging? I’ve ordered a new 40pin chip out of desperation. Welcome thoughts from those who know more than me (everyone)
Answer JJ, There are a few other things to check first. If the dryer overheats, the thermal fuse fuse WP3392519 on the blower housing will "open" and not allow power to the motor, but the control board relay will "click".Then there's the 279782 belt switch, located on the base of the dryer/motor mount assembly. If the belt 661570V breaks, the switch fails or a wire is damaged or burnt, the motor will not start or run either. These are "safety" devices and based on your description, the most likely issue with your dryer. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, April 24, 2019
