Olivier D Bethesda , MD April 11, 2015 Appliance: Bosch WFL2060 UC/01 (FD 8201-) The cold water did not shut off in the rinse cycle i assumed the incoming cold water valve was broken The repair is easy. Two screws in the back hold the top cover - once they are off you need to slide the cover back and it comes off. The valve is right there where the cold water hose is connected. Disconnect the control wires / clamp and slide back the wire clamps / remove the two rubber hosed / remove the old valve (it is snapped in place - look at the new one to understand the snap mechanism) / install the new valve. The repair takes less than 10 min. I tested and sure enough... now it works :) Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Tony D Washington , DC April 14, 2015 Fabric softener was not going into the wash it was still in the dispenser after the wash cycle was complete This is the second time this part has gone bad since I owned my Bosch Axis washer--- the original part and then a replacement part that was installed about 4 years ago. The hardest part was removing the dryer from to top of the washer (stack unit). I did this by myself, but if I had help it would have been easy. After unplugging the electricity and closing the cold water valve, I removed the protective lid from the washer. The part was very easy to get to---right on top at the inside back of the washer. All I had to do was unhook 3 hoses (about the size of a pencil); unplug the electric attachment; unscrew the main cold water line (be sure to have a bucket close by to capture any water that may be in the hose when you unhook it from the washer); pop the old part out; snap the new part in; and then hook everything back up and turn the water back on. It was easy and simple. NOTE: With this part, you do not have to unhook the HOT water hose. I check everything to make sure there were no leaks, which there were not. I then did a test (empty) wash cycle. Once that was done I did a normal wash and the fabric softener went through the cycle without any problems. This was an easy fix. I figured I saved myself probably $200 by doing the job myself. Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Kai C Somerville , MA August 30, 2016 Appliance: Model WFL2060UC Cold wash and rinse problems I inherited WFL2060UC in the apartment. I don't know how old the machine was. When I set up a cold wash cycle, it sounded like the machine kept trying to add water but sometimes it would not start its washing cycle. Also, there was ever water in the detergent box. When I set up a warm or hot wash cycle, the machine started fine, but it would stop in the middle of the rinse cycles. I found that the problem was caused by a somewhat broken cold water inlet. The washer was trying to add water, but the cold water was getting into the machine way too slowly and the machine basically just gave up and paused when it took too long to add water. After a new cold water inlet valve was added, all problems were solved. It was a very quick fix. The only difficult part was the diagnosis of the problem and taking the dryer off the washer.
