This is a start switch intended for use with dryers. With time or because of damage caused by accident, the start switch may stop working correctly. If the start switch isn't working, then the dryer will not function properly, and a replacement part should be ordered. If the push to start switch doesn't respond, it could be damaged or broken. I replaced the controller. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get to it. The video on the website showed access to the control via the rear panel. On the Kitchen Aid we have, the back panel is part of the range's main frame and does not come off. Turns out, 2 screws behind the fluorescent lamp had to be removed and the entire control panel housing lifts up and can be tilted forward.
